KASUR: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said his government would complete its five-year tenure, Geo News reported Saturday.
Talking to journalists here in Head Baloki, he ruled out the possibility of mid-term elections in the country, adding the mid-term polls would be held in the constituencies where the fake degree issue has rendered the seats vacant and the same is afoot now.
The terrorists are beasts; and hence, no negotiations would be held with them, he stressed, adding terrorists are terrorists wherever they are.
‘I will meet Chairman of Higher Education Commission (HEC), who wants to see me,’ he informed.
The PM Gilani said, ‘Don’t worry; as it is I who is to decide regarding the extension of Army Chief’s term in office.’
He said the government is on the go in accordance with the Constitution and will go full length of its term of five years.
Commenting on the fake degrees issue, he said the issue reflects the flaws of society and politicians are a part to it; but, this does not mean that it is only the politicians who are involved in this fiasco.
Some people were in service earlier, now they are in politics, Premier Yousuf Raza said underlining that he does not want to accuse or defend anyone.
Responding a query, he said he has amiable relations with the judiciary and the CJ could be approached on the same.
The PM said there is no political prisoner in his era in the country, as he does not want the politics of vengeance.
