Australian Captain Ricky Ponting termed the announcement by skipper Shahid Afridi to quit the test cricket after a defeat in Lord’s Test as ridiculous.

It is Pakistan’s 13th consecutive defeat by the Kangroos in any Test series. Remarking on the decision by Afridi, Ponting said that ‘I can’t forget this joke by Afridi’.

Ricky said that such situations do occur in the world of cricket, and added that he was not amused on the news. It merits to mention that Afridi announced retirement for the third time from the Test cricket as earlier his retirement was not accepted by the PCB chief.
